In Loving Memory of Susan Lynne Dunlop Hash

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Lynne Dunlop Hash, 66 on July 1, 2025, in Welches, Oregon. She was the beloved wife of Steven “Rocky” Hash, with whom she shared 48 years of love and partnership. Together, they raised three children, Cara Hash, Steven Hash, and Tessa Hash Davison, and were blessed with a granddaughter, Harley Hilfiger-Hash.

Born in Portland, Oregon, on July 11, 1958, Susan was the daughter of Simpson Standish Dunlop and Betty Ann Daw Dunlop. She graduated from Estacada High School in 1976 and attended Seattle Pacific University and Mt Hood Community College. She remained closely connected to many friends throughout her life.

Susan was passionate about education and literacy, dedicating much of her life to the enrichment of others. Her professional journey included roles at the Sandy and Hoodland Libraries, where she worked as a Library Associate, establishing the tutoring program and managing volunteers. One of her most cherished activities was hosting the weekly Story Time at the Hoodland Library in Welches, where she fostered a love of reading in young minds.

In 1986, Susan and Rocky moved to Hattiesburg, Mississippi, where they raised their family and became devoted members of their community. Susan worked as an elementary teacher’s aide at Oak Grove Elementary, always committed to supporting students and helping them thrive. She tutored at the Dubard School for Language Disorders of the University of Southern Mississippi and for the Mississippi Adult Literacy Program. Whether it was in her professional capacity or as a volunteer, Susan’s focus was always on making a positive impact on those around her.

Susan will be remembered for her infectious smile, her laughter that could brighten any room, and her unwavering commitment to her family, friends, and community. Her spirit of generosity and dedication to the betterment of others leaves a lasting legacy.

She is survived by her husband, Steven “Rocky” Hash; children, Cara Hash, Steven Hash, and Tessa Hash Davison; granddaughter, Harley Hilfiger-Hash; as well as numerous other family members and friends who loved her dearly.
